Born in the small Ohio town of Lodi, Jennifer Newyear took an interest in art at an early age. After graduating from Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, OH, she worked as a partner in a photo/graphic design studio with photo retouching as a specialty. Now her focus is on oil painting, watercolor, or pastel drawing of natural subjects in a somewhat realistic style while often exaggerating color. As secondary medium she uses photography which can be seen at jennewyearphoto.wordpress.com. Her paintings hang in private collections including a portrait of the founder of Troy Chemical. Jennifer enjoys painting and drawing of landscapes and people, capturing the character she sees of each. Occasionally, her paintings are of imagined scenes that are an illustration in search of a story. She works from her studio in Richfield, OH and enjoys drawing with local life drawing groups.
